The Proposal of the Business development of the Company Operating on the Electricity Market

The dissertation target was to define the strategical concept of the company QUANTUM development. The company QUANTUM is the trader with the commodity of electricity operating the Czech Republic market. The theoretical part of the dissertation targets at the item of the company development and the process of the strategical management. There is the analytical methodology defined as well. The analytical part of the dissertation defines the practical implementation of the analytical concepts of the business environment of the company with the aim to define the impact factors influencing the company. The strategical concept of the business development of the company was defined and implemented due to the conclusion of the analysis with the aim to maintain the competitive position of the company in the Czech energy market. The definition of the strategy implementation reacts at the analysis of the defined threats and opportunities and the evaluation of the risks.

This diploma thesis deals with the creation of the development plan within the selected portfolio of services on the electricity market. The theoretical part focuses on a detailed description of the possibilities of company development and strategic management issues, especially on selected analyzes of general, market and internal environment. In the analytical part are identified and analyzed the key factors affecting the company affecting its operation in the electricity market, as well as the evaluation of the internal environment of the company. Based on the results of the analyzes, a proposal for the development of QUANTUM, a.s. to consolidate the electricity market position and steps to achieve the chosen strategy. The proposals also include a risk assesment and evaluation of the benefits of the proposed strategy.
Reforms of the Ukrainian Energy Industry

The energy sector of Ukraine is of strategic importance not only within the national economy, but is also significant from a European perspective, because it includes transit energy networks that are essential for a large part of Europe. The fundamental problem still remains low energy efficiency of the economy, obsolete infrastructure, dysfunctional system and the absence of major reforms. At the moment, another round of reforms is taking place under the influence of a rapprochement with the European Union, to modernize the sector and adapt it to European standards. This work describes the development of the sector and the reform efforts since independence until today with a particular focus on the gas sector and the period 2014 to 2017. This is particularly the developments in the energy market, pricing policies, availability, security and decentralization of the system. In addition, the work also focuses on the development of energy efficiency, the environment and renewable energy sources. Following on the theoretical basis (especially the theory of institutional economics) through analysis of described facts assesses developments in the reforms and their impact on the whole sector including evaluation of the role and influence of oligarchs in these reform attempts. Climate change in the Czech Republic and its perception from the perspective of selected representatives of the energy sector

The present diploma thesis is focusing on understanding the opinions of the selected representatives within the energy sector, with regard to traditional energy on the issue of climate change, as well as on researching the possible change in their attitudes due to climate change, and on mapping accepted or intended measures related to climate change and energy. Traditional energy is already going through some significant transformation and the opinions of employees within this sector can contribute to a better understanding of the perception of climate change in relation to energy. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis approaches the issue of climate change in relation to energy, and also with regard to the situation in the Czech Republic or in the European Union. Furthermore, the issue of coal power plants and heating plants in the Czech Republic, as well as their role in climate change and energy, is also analysed. This part of the thesis deals more closely with the problem of climate change in the Czech Republic. The Russian oil industry has long been one of the most important and valuable oil markets in the world. During the Soviet era, the oil industry was subject to strict state control, but the privatization of industry in the 1990s after the collapse of the Soviet Union led the industrial companies to be handed over to several businessmen who later became Russian oligarchs. In my work I examine the rise and fall of the most prominent member of the early group of oligarchs - Mikhail Khodorkovsky.
